Morning Routine

The children are welcome to come into the classroom as soon as the door is opened by a member of staff. As the cloakroom is limited in space, we politely ask that you encourage your child to come into the classroom independently by leaving them at the planters just outside the cloakroom door.

Home time Routine

We will stand with the children at the classroom door and send them to you when we see you. The playground can be busy at the end of the day so please give us a wave so we can send your child to you promptly. If your child is going home with someone other than yourself, please let Miss Jefferies know at morning drop off, or alternatively leave a message with the office and they will pass it on.

Home Learning

Please read with your child daily. We also ask that you support them with their phonics sounds, key words and spellings.

What will you need in Frogs class?

School Uniform/PE

Please make sure ALL items of clothing are clearly labelled, including PE kit. PE kit should be in school at all times and should include coloured t-shirt, shorts and daps (also trainers/jogging bottoms for cold and wet weather).

Wellington Boots

For wet weather activities and welly walks, we ask that your child brings in a pair of wellies that are labelled and pegged together. These will be kept in the cloakroom.

Snack/Enrichment Activities

We have a morning snack of fruit, milk or water. Throughout the year we will also offer children enrichment activities. In order to do this, and to cover the cost of cooking activities, we ask for a contribution of £12 to cover the whole year or £2 every term. Please give the money, in a named envelope, to a member of staff in the classroom. Once children turn 5 years old they are no longer entitled to free milk, so we purchase milk on a weekly basis. Please ask at the school office if you would like your child to receive milk with their snack.

Water bottles

Please ensure your child brings in a named water bottle every day to school. We politely ask that it is only filled with water (unless there is a medical reason) due to spillages.

Key Dates and Information

Please keep an eye on the Class Dojo page and letters coming home in your child’s book bag for important messages and key dates.

Please feel free to pop in and see us – we are always available to talk if you have any queries. If there’s anything that could affect your child’s day and you feel we need to be aware of then please let us know in the morning, and if you wish this can then be discussed in more detail after school.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
